What is NHEXUS?
Our Ambition
NHEXUS is a pioneering platform designed to connect health academics, practitioners, and policymakers across institutions. We aim to bridge the gap between academia and practice, fostering innovation in social health research. Our growing community showcases expertise from the University of Leicester and beyond, welcoming health professionals from all sectors.
Through our intuitive expert directory, we empower individuals to discover shared research interests, find potential partners, and build collaborative teams that drive positive change in social health research and practice.
Our Story
NHEXUS emerged following a series of initiatives including the ‘Developing Partnerships in Health Research Event’ held at the University of Leicester in Spring 2024. Feedback from academics and stakeholders revealed the need to create a publicly accessible and searchable database to enable policymakers and stakeholders to engage directly with experts in social health research, fostering meaningful connections that advance the field.
Our Partnerships
We are proud to partner with the University of Leicester’s Creative Health Network whose members contribute to our expert directory. This collaboration enriches our community with diverse perspectives from arts, creativity, and culture in social healthcare.
“The Creative Health Network is a new interdisciplinary network (part of the University of Leicester Heritage Hub), which aims to promote interdisciplinary, community-based collaborations for Creative Health, and share research resources across the region to directly benefit the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities through the arts, creativity and culture. It will foster a membership of researchers, community and civic partners, patient and lived experience groups, health professionals, arts organisations and creative practitioners who are interested in creative health and creative approaches to addressing health inequalities”
Together, we plan to host joint events and share resources to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and provide new ways of thinking about the intersection between health and creativity.
